I am writing to express my strong interest to apply for a position as Researcher in Computational Biology and drug design.My background includes about ten years of computational studies and Structural Bioinformatics of diverse proteins, for example, histidine kinases, e.g. CpxA , membrane proteins, such as G protein coupled receptors GPCRs (e.g muscarinic, vasopressin , adenosine, etc) and nuclear receptors (e.g. estrogen receptors ERα and ER β) through diverse computational techniques such as: Molecular modeling, Molecular dynamics simulations employing different programs such as NAMD and GROMACS, docking studies, and drug design of novel compounds that target diverse proteins of interest.
Furthermore, I have experience in biochemical techniques that permit pharmacological characterization of potential drugs, e.g. radioligand binding assays. Knowledge of both methodology has given me not only the opportunity to understand better the structure-function relationships of diverse proteins but also work successfully with interdisciplinary teams around the world (France, Spain, UK and Mexico). I have studied two postdocs, one at the Superior School of Medicine in Mexico City and the other at the Department of Structural Bioinformatics at Institut Pasteur in Paris, France.
